Day 14
Giornata piovosa purtroppo ma si prevede un apertura nella tarda mattinata, ma del resto è tutto nella norma a queste latitudini. Ma il nostro programma prevede di salire il quota oggi al Banff Sunshine Village con la “Gondola” (la nostra ovovia) per poi cambiare verso SunShine Meadows con la seggiovia a quota 2700 metri.
Proviamo la salita ma in quota rinunciamo e decidiamo di scendere al Village per via del meteo proibitivo. Siamo già tutti bagnati anche se attrezzati ma la pioggia presa in seggiovia ed il vento in quota non permetteva la camminata. Ci asciughiamo e rilassiamo ad una delle tante baite e dopo 1 ora e 1/2 con il cielo che pare invogliarci decidiamo di riprovare. Questa volta in quota 2700 non piove, è molto nuvoloso e tira poco vento. Si parte, ma subito veniamo avvisati dal ranger della presenza di orsi essendoci stata pioggia che li distrae dagli odori e potrebbero non avvertirci… quindi fare molta attenzione. (Non ne abbiamo incontrato neanche 1 purtroppo per me
) Il trekking è stato uno dei più belli, anche se a tratti scivoloso ma in un nuovo habitat, con clima diverso e che ci ha portato alla scoperta di 3 laghi davvero molto belli e non glaciali. Una camminata stancante, quasi 11 km per tornare a valle senza seggiovia ma entusiasmante e ricca di natura.

E finalmente cena.
Day 14
Unfortunately, it's a rainy day, but the opening is expected in the late morning, but otherwise, everything is normal at these latitudes. Our plan today is to ascend to Banff Sunshine Village with the "Gondola" (our cable car) and then change to SunShine Meadows with the chairlift at 2,700 meters.
We try the ascent, but at altitude, we give up and decide to descend to the Village due to the prohibitive weather. We're already soaked, even though we were equipped, but the rain from the chairlift and the wind at altitude made walking impossible. We dry off and relax at one of the many huts, and after an hour and a half, with the sky seemingly inviting, we decide to try again. This time, at 2,700 meters, it's not raining; it's very cloudy and there's little wind. We set off, but the ranger immediately alerted us to the presence of bears, as it had been raining, distracting them from the smells and making them miss our warnings... so be very careful. (Unfortunately for me, we didn't encounter a single one. ) The trek was one of the most beautiful, even if slippery at times, but it was in a new habitat, with a different climate, and it led us to discover three truly beautiful, non-glacial lakes. A tiring walk, almost 11 km to return to the valley without a chairlift, but exciting and rich in nature.
