Day 7
Proprio così…oggi la nostra destinazione è il Grand Canyon South Rim 
e così per 2 giorni. Avendo tre ingressi diversi scegliamo, provenendo dalla Monument Valley, il South Rim lato est che ci permette di avere accesso alla Grand Canyon Desert View Drive, una strada panoramica di circa 40 chilometri che collega la Desert View Watchtower all’area del Grand Canyon Village. Abbiamo così fatto tutti e 6 i punti panoramici, brevissime camminate per avere gli scorci migliori e un panorama che lascia senza fiato. 
Descrivere il Grand Canyon non è fattibile e quello che si prova neanche.
Parliamo di un'immensa gola creata dal fiume Colorado nell'Arizona, lunga 446 chilometri circa, profonda fino a 1.857 metri
! Quasi due miliardi di anni della storia della Terra sono emersi alla luce grazie all'azione del fiume e dei suoi affluenti che in milioni di anni hanno eroso le rocce strato dopo strato!
Arriviamo così al Grand Canyon South Village dove sono le strutture ricreative, il centro del parco e da dove partono molti sentieri trekking. Pranziamo al volo perché il meteo non è dei migliori e vogliamo fare del trekking. Scegliamo un sentiero medio ma come previsto arriva la pioggia. Comunque portiamo a termine il nostro obbiettivo, un loop con diversi punti panoramici, stupefacenti nonostante la pioggia intensa. I ranger del parco annunciano di lasciare i sentieri perché è prevista una tempesta in serata e li si è troppo esposti. Così ci affrettiamo e distrutti prendiamo l’auto per dirigerci verso l’hotel.
Facciamo base a Williams, Arizona , che ci permette di assaporare finalmente la Williams Arizona Route 66

That's right... today our destination is the Grand Canyon South Rim and so for 2 days. Having three different entrances, coming from Monument Valley, we choose the South Rim on the east side which allows us to have access to the Grand Canyon Desert View Drive, a panoramic road of about 40 kilometers that connects the Desert View Watchtower to the Grand Canyon Village area. So we did all 6 panoramic points, very short walks to get the best views and a panorama that leaves you breathless. Describing the Grand Canyon is not feasible and neither is what it feels like. We are talking about an immense gorge created by the Colorado River in Arizona, approximately 446 kilometers long, up to 1,857 meters deep! Almost two billion years of Earth's history have emerged to light thanks to the action of the river and its tributaries which over millions of years have eroded the rocks layer after layer!
Thus we arrive at the Grand Canyon South Village where the recreational facilities are, the center of the park and where many trekking trails start. We have lunch on the fly because the weather isn't the best and we want to do some trekking. We choose a medium path but as expected the rain arrives. However, we completed our goal, a loop with several panoramic points, amazing despite the heavy rain. The park rangers announce that they are leaving the trails because a storm is expected in the evening and they are too exposed. So we hurry and, destroyed, we take the car to head towards the hotel.
We are based in Williams, Arizona, which allows us to finally enjoy the Williams Arizona Route 66
Typical dinner in an American restaurant and going to bed tomorrow will be another day to remember
