Agosto 2022, “on the road”,… questo è stato uno dei viaggi con più emozioni vissute. 21 giorni in giro per gli USA
Volo Roma - Los Angeles , 13 ore di volo diretto, ci hanno permesso di dare inizio alla nostra scoperta dei 4 Stati messi in agenda: California, Nevada, Utah e Arizona.
Appena atterrati e sbrigate le procedure doganali abbiamo noleggiato l’auto e via verso la nostra prima meta: Las Vegas
Il volo e il fuso orario (-9 ore) ci hanno provato ma ci attendono quasi 500km da fare. Proiettati sulle strade Americane restiamo subito affascinati dai panorami che ci circondano e la nostra prima sosta la facciamo a Calico Ghost Town, California. Una città fantasma, in parte ricostruita che fa rivivere l’atmosfera dei minatori e dell’epoca. Ma purtroppo arrivati in orario di chiusura quindi dopo un breve giro a piedi esterno e qualche snack ci rimettiamo in viaggio e riposizioniamo la visita di Calico al nostro ritorno. La strada è ancora lunga, siamo solo a metà tragitto e la stanchezza si fa sentire quindi aumentiamo le soste nei piccoli store che incontriamo (qui non esistono gli Autogril) e all’improvviso vediamo in lontananza le luci di Las Vegas. Arriviamo in serata, stanchi… Dopo aver effettuato il check in, usciamo solo per un boccone e per dare un occhiata ma rientriamo subito….domani ci aspetta una giornata memorabile… ma nessuno lo sa!!!

August 2022, “on the road”,… this was one of the most emotional trips I experienced. 21 days around the USA
Flight Rome - Los Angeles, 13 hours of direct flight, allowed us to begin our discovery of the 4 states on the agenda: California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona.
As soon as we landed and completed the customs procedures, we rented the car and headed to our first destination: Las Vegas
The flight and the time difference (-9 hours) were trying but we have almost 500km to go. Projected onto the American roads we are immediately fascinated by the views that surround us and we make our first stop in Calico Ghost Town, California. A ghost town, partly rebuilt which revives the atmosphere of the miners and the era. But unfortunately we arrived at closing time so after a short walk outside and some snacks we get back on the road and reschedule the visit to Calico on our return. The road is still long, we are only halfway there and the tiredness is making itself felt so we increase the stops in the small stores we come across (there are no Autogrils here) and suddenly we see the lights of Las Vegas in the distance. We arrive in the evening, tired... After checking in, we go out just for a bite and to have a look but we return straight away.... tomorrow a memorable day awaits us... but no one knows!!!
